  • Sun Valley Adaptive Sports offers summer and winter internship opportunities for Therapeutic Recreation students as well as students in other recreation related fields. Interns receive hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. They will also help with grant writing, research, and assist in the planning process of our programs. Best of all, they will have fun, make great friends, and enjoy a life-changing experience.

    Internships
We offer year-round internship opportunities. We have the greatest need for interns during the summer for our day camp program PACK (Peak Adventure Camp for Kids). Internships for PACK run from late-May through mid-August. PACK is a 10- to 12-week day camp for children and adolescents with disabilities. The types of disabilities interns work with include physical, developmental, behavioral and learning disorders. Interns work directly with the SVAS staff and will be supervised by our certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS). Don't worry, they’re cool! Program activities include martial arts, pottery, yoga, hiking, camping, biking, swimming, tennis, and various field trips throughout southern Idaho. Application deadline is April 15th of the current year. Due to popularity of SVAS internships, we strongly advise sending in applications as soon as you feel interested.

    General Internships
Our program director is always looking for mature, enthusiastic, and passionate individuals of all levels of experience, background, and education. If you would like to join our fun and passionate team, please email or call us for more information.
