Adaptive Sports Partners with TSA

Sun Valley Adaptive Sports (SVAS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have entered into a partnership. The partnership expedites security screening for service members who have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and who plan on visiting Sun Valley for sports and recreational rehabilitation.

The process begins when SVAS calls TSA with flight reservation information of a visiting service member. On the day of travel, the service member contacts TSA. TSA then arranges to meet the service member curbside and escorts him or her through security and check-in – at point of departure for outgoing travel and return travel.

This TSA service eliminates the need for service members to wait in long lines, which can aggravate a service member’s injuries. TSA will also help with disabled transportation services within each airport the service member travels through to ease the discomfort and inconvenience of traveling between terminals.

“It’s about making travel to Sun Valley as hassle-free as possible,” says Tom Iselin, executive director of SVAS.
